Mayo Remembrance Concert
This unique concert is to honour all those from county Mayo, who served and died in the world wars and conflicts of the past century in the cause of world peace, they will be permanently commemorated in the Mayo Peace Park, Garden of Remembrance, which will be officially opened the following day by the President of Ireland, Mary McAleese.
Featuring some of the leading Choirs of County Mayo, the Cill Aodain Choir, the Moy Singers, the Mayo Male Voice Choir, Cor Mhaigheo, Castlebar Parish Choir, two international choirs the “Singgemeinschaft Wachenroth” from Hochstadt, Germany, and the Irish Guards Choir from Liverpool. They will be singing songs of hope and inspiration and a number of very popular numbers of their own choosing
The Mayo Concert Orchestra, under the direction of Mr George Lee, will provide musical entertainment for the occasion. It will also feature our leading internationally famous Mayo Tenor Sean Costello from Ballinrobe and the equally famous and popular soprano Francie McNicholas from Swinford. There will also be a guest appearance from Achill,s best and brightest star James Kilbane.
This is a once off occasion not to be missed, it will also have short readings, poems,community singing and military band participation.

The voluntary community Mayo Peace Park
committee promoting the concert, are urging everyone in Mayo, to come out and
hear some of the best singers from our county, who have ever been put on one
stage at the same time.
