Tower City Center adds Skylight Park, an urban park providing a break for passers-by

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Skylight Park – an urban park located in tower city center – is due to be unveiled on Saturday, July 16.

Real estate developer Bedrock has partnered with Cuyahoga Valley National Park Conservation on the project.

The interior urban park layout is presented as an experiential park that provides a break in the day for passers-by and will be furnished with benches, picnic tables and chairs.

Officials from the developer and the national park worked together to showcase the natural beauty and greenery. A representative for Bedrock said in a statement that the park is “inspired by classic Midwestern foliage, hand-selected and native to Ohio.” It will include eastern purple coneflower and black-eyed susan.

Additionally, “mindfulness moments” with quotes and mantras will be displayed amidst the greenery for visitors to reflect on.

A grand opening celebration is scheduled from noon to 6 p.m. on July 16 in the Skylight Concourse, featuring programming and performances, food and drink pop-ups, family activities and more. CVNP rangers will present a family event on “Creatures and Misunderstood Creatures” from noon to 4 p.m.

Starting Thursday, July 14, family-friendly programs and events will take place throughout the summer in and around Skylight Park, including a lunchtime music series from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursdays.

Skylight Park is part of Bedrock’s efforts to revitalize Tower City as a hub for shopping and retail experiences, restaurants, entertainment and more. More catering and retail ventures have recently been announced, and the venue was also the site of pop-up businesses and activities during this year’s NBA All-Star weekend.
