They were leading a bicycle safety program at the urban park market on Thursday.

“Our goal for the Youth in Police Service Initiative with the Bike Safety Campaign is to introduce young children to stop signs and streetlights just so they are ready in any situation. in the street with their bikes, ”said Brooke Gauthier, one of the young TPS ambassadors.

“Our collaboration with the urban market allows us to do this downtown, which is perfect as children can just bring their own bikes and so they can be prepared with their own bikes as well as their helmets.”

Gauthier said they run this campaign almost every year at the urban park.

She said they received a great response from the young riders who participated and are planning to welcome her again.

In fact, Gauthier said that if anyone missed the campaign last Thursday, he can participate on Thursday because he will host it again.

“It has really been a great opportunity for the kids to bring their bikes and it has been a success so far. The children are very curious and they see our stand set up and they always like to come and see what we are doing and bring the bikes.

“Some kids have previous knowledge, but it’s always good to refresh their memory and make sure they know all the rules and regulations on the road,” said Gauthier.
